Folks at Android Authority performed an APK teardown of Snapchat v12.62.0.36 beta, revealing code strings indicating a potential lock screen integration. The report further notes that the code resembles that used in Oppo and OnePlus, suggesting a possible release.

Direct access to Snapchat’s camera from the lock screen is possible. This lets users maintain streaks or stay connected by capturing and sharing memories directly. A similar feature was recently discovered for Instagram. These features indicate that Samsung’s next flagship series may offer an unprecedentedly smart experience.

Instagram will likely join Snapchat

Moreover, Samsung has previously collaborated with Instagram to enable users to capture photos or record videos directly from its stock camera. This suggests that a lock screen integration is a logical step. OnePlus and Oppo devices already offer this feature. Therefore, Samsung may likely integrate Snapchat and Instagram cameras into the lock screen with the release of the Galaxy S24 series. It may run Android 14-based One UI 6.0 out of the box.
