I have been using and loving the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic for months and it’s my absolute favorite Android smartwatch on the market right now, and you can currently pick up the regular version for $230.
The only real difference between the two is the rotating bezel. But other than that you’ll find both watches run with the same processor and the same software. Which is Wear OS 4 by the way. That being said, Best Buy has the Classic model on sale for Black Friday as well with it coming down in price from $399 to $319. There are two things to keep in mind here with both the $230 and $319 prices. These are for the 40mm and 43mm sizes respectively. These are also the GPS model and not the ones with LTE.
With all of that out of the way, here’s what makes these watches great. First and foremost, the Wear OS software helps to ensure longer battery life and better performance and efficiency. I’ve noticed less latency between actions compared to the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro thanks to the further optimizations Google has made to Wear OS 4 compared to Wear OS 3. Battery life is better on the Galaxy Watch 6 too. Lasting longer on average than the Galaxy Watch 5.
I think out of everything I like the advanced sleep coaching more than anything else. I don’t always get the most sleep and it’s due to years of simply atrocious sleep habits. But the Galaxy Watch 6 has helped me to improve on this some and ensure I am more well-rested for the following day. It’s still a process and there’s more room for improvement. But I can say that I did indeed start to sleep better after using this watch. You can use the sleep coach to set up bedtimes so you get an alert when it’s time to wind down and go to bed.
Once you’re there, the watch can track things like snoring and REM sleep and give you some useful insights the next morning. This way you can see how well you slept and where you might need to improve to get a better sleep score. On top of these things the Galaxy Watch 6 offers Play Store access, newly available Google Maps directions, Google Assistant, Google Wallet, and advanced sport and heart rate tracking.
