Shopping Lists and Assistant Notes inside Google Keep: a streamlined experience

While most of your data will transition seamlessly, there are some exceptions to be aware of. Family notes created on Smart Displays will not be moved. Additionally, there will be notes or lists that are too large for Google Keep. You can download those notes or lists from Google Takeout until May 1, 2024. After that Google servers will delete the data left in the previous platforms.

To access your migrated notes and lists, simply open the Google Keep app. It’s available on both the Android Play Store and Apple App Store. You’ll easily spot the notes and lists that Google transferred from Shopping List or Assistant Notes (image below).

You can continue to use Google Assistant to access all the lists and notes from Google Keep. For that, you will need to grant Google Assistant the permission to access your Shopping Lists and Assistant Notes data stored inside Google Keep. It allows you to create, update, and delete your notes and lists effortlessly.

Google sets the migration process to roll out starting in November 2023. You can check whether your account has been migrated by visiting the Shopping List page. It will provide updates and information regarding the completion of the transition.

In summary, Google’s move to transition to Google Keep for note-taking and list management offers a more unified and efficient way to organize your digital life.
