The games available for Android are second to none, and a whole new bunch are now available thanks to the latest update. From cult classics to old favorites, there’s something for every type of player out there. We took a look at the selection on Android, and rounded up what we think are some of the best types of games that should be downloaded on the new update.
Platform Games
There’s a reason why platform games have been such a popular genre for such a long time – they keep the player on their toes, no two plays are ever the same, and they’re fun! Some of our favorites that are available on Android include Dead Cells, Super Mario Run, Blackmoor 2, and Limbo.
To some, Dead Cells may be a bit retro, but that’s why we love it. It feels like a classic platform game, where players move through 2D levels, getting rid of the bad guys while collecting rewards and dodging obstacles.
If you’re into gaming (or even if you’re not), you will have heard of the iconic Nintendo game, Super Mario. Super Mario Run is just one of many great options from the franchise, and is the perfect example of a platformer game.
It’s only been in the last few years that mobile game app developers have been able to translate the magic of platformer games from consoles or PCs to mobile devices. But now that they’ve achieved it, these games are without a doubt some of the best to be played with the Android update.

Online casino games have been growing in popularity since they came onto the scene, because they allow players to take part in all their favorites without having to travel to a casino or even leave the house!
Loads of casino games can be found on apps and mobile-friendly websites like Mega Dice, which host a bunch of classics like poker, roulette, and blackjack. Another amazing option with the new Android update is Endling – Extinction Is Forever. It’s only a short game, so it might not suit everyone’s preferences, but it puts players in the shoes of a mother fox trying to save her babies from environmental destruction. In this sense, the game is a pretty unique form of role-play, but not one to be missed.
Battle Royale
Battle royale games are highly competitive, and can even be slightly stressful at times, but they must be doing something right to have stayed so popular for so many years. Some of the top picks for Android at the moment include Fortnite and Call of Duty (of course), as well as titles like Happy Zone, Modern Combat 5, and Stumble Guys.
Fortnite was developed by Epic Games and released in 2017, and has become a globally known game since then. It combined battle royale with a fun element of being able to build structures to protect yourself from enemies or access new areas of the battlefield.
